From what I understand.... Wells asked the Yankees if he could wear the number 3 as his number. And he was serious.
You gotta love that gumption.
I really liked Wells as a yankee - and the perfect game in pinstripes for a pitcher who was a true yankee fan himself.... that was a great moment.
