I think I remember seeing some teams use fictional uniforms if they were a relatively new team to the league.

Thanks Phil. Your theory is quite possible, but I think that the cap manufacturing (tagging) era may predate the throwback game era in MLB, no? Did they have these sorts of games in the 1970's?
