Lee BehrensI did some research on the back populations prior to helping Lyman write the article about T202's in Oldcardboard #7. The breakdown for the backs were as follows:
Black 649: 60%
Red 30 : 37%
Black 30 : 3%
I have continued to track the black 30's and have only been able to find 21 diiferent ones at this point. As Geno said,There seems to be no premium attached to the black 30's, but I am willing to pay about a 20% premium for them. I always looking to acquire black 30 backs, if you are not interested in parting with ones you have please let me know so I can catalog them. I am making a halfass effort to acquire all the card with the different backs.
I have never found anything to explain why there is 2 different colors used for the factory 30 backs.
