Default Special Olympics fundraising by our board member

Hey folks
I get a fair amount of requests to put charity stuff on the front page and I generally have to say no, as it is difficult to say yes to someone and then no to others. And if every one was admitted then we could have a lot of threads about things that aren't the focus of this forum. It's difficult to say no but it is in the best interest of the board. That being said.....

Many of you may know fellow board member, Kyle Bicking, from conceptualizing and running two Net54baseball charity auctions in recent years. In 2007, Kyle organized the first Net54baseball charity auction, which sold through Robert Edward Auctions for an amazing $7050.00. The following year, a second auction sold through Heritage Auctions for $1135.25.

Kyle recently approached me regarding a charity he is actively looking to raise money for, and as a thank you for his efforts on behalf all of our Net54baseball board members, I would like to share his opportunity with you.

Next month, Kyle, his brother, and several of their friends will forgo rational thought, strip down to a single layer of clothing, and run into the freezing waters of Lake Michigan during the Polar Plunge. The Polar Plunge is an annual event where thousands of Chicagoans form teams and compete to see who can raise the most money for the Special Olympics of Chicago. His efforts will be ultimately rewarded with intense shrinkage courtesy of Lake Michigan.

It’s wonderful to see the Special Olympics being blessed with the support of so many in Chicago. If you would like to contribute to Kyle’s campaign, the link below will take you to his homepage.
