My first set was 1978 - in 1977, my friend gave me all his Star Wars cards because he had moved on to baseball. It took me another year, but in April of 1978 I go an issue of Dynamite Magazine that contained an uncut panel of 6 cards and I was hooked. In addition to the complete mint set, it's album contains several items from the Topps Vault, including the original photographs used for the Tekulve and Darrell Evans cards.
I also have purchased over the years the A, C, D and E printing sheets. Still need the B sheet (Murray rookie) and the F sheet (rookie cards). Have them hung in my home office:
