Mark SteinbergWell, there are a number of ways to tell. First, the color is usually more stark white on the repro parts. The original toe plates and pitching rubbers are creamier and have more depth to the color. If you compare them side-by-side, you can easily tell.
Second, the Drysdale Rubber is not the same shape. The corners are more rounded and the rubber is a bit wider. It is easy to determine the repro pitching rubber.
Third, the purple (or plum colored) toe plates are a sign that the piece is original. I am only aware of the white replacements. Has anyone else heard of any replacement purple toe plates?
Lastly.... look for an original or previous outline of the foot on the toeplate. If the toeplate has another (second) footprint outline, it may have been re-attached at some point.
