All of these cards were picked up this week. I just started the 61 Red Sox team set.




I love vintage league leaders cards and the star power on this one is pretty good, especially Minoso




The Hardy card cracks me up, with the badly airbrushed B on the cap, while he's clearly wearing a different jersey, which I believe to be the Senators'.



Both Wertz and Malzone are underrated. Back when hitting 20 HRs meant something, Wertz did it 6 times, with career highs of 32 HRs (1956) and 133 RBI (1949). He was a 4-time All Star. Malzone spent 11 of his 12 years with the Sox and was known for being a great defensive 3B with decent pop. He was a 6-time All Star. I had the pleasure of meeting him with my oldest son a few months before he passed away.



Schilling and Yaz were teammates in the minors with Minneapolis and both made their MLB debuts in 1961. They were always linked together, hence the "Sox Sockers" card with the 2 of them in the 1964 Topps sets.
