I bought the item because I liked the image, it is ex-Christie's (when DiMaggio was alive), and it came from a reputable auction house who will take it back if I don't like it. When I bid on it, my initial thought was that it was a rushed, on-the-run autograph. But my guess is that no authenticator will touch it, so it is almost irrelevant whether it is real or not.
