Default Today's Baseball and the Playoffs- O/T

Forget the $200 Million + salary, forget ARod's poor performance, and yes, "big bats
will come up lame" in October....unless your name is REGGIE....it's the pitching that
wins every Fall season.

And,when you get rid of "home grown" players like Soriano, Pettitte, etc....who
have proven to be winners.....then Cashman & Steinbrenner deserve losing.

I'll never understand why Pettitte was let go....can anyone out there explain why?
And, Clemens still could pitch and these are the guys that win for you in October.

Everyone of us know that Play-offs are primarily won by the team who has dominant
pitching staff.....what is it that Cashman & Steinbrenner don't understand ?
Even David Wells could have done better if he was still in pin-stripes. Wells holds
one of the more formidable post-season pitching records.

It would be nice if the Mets could win.....but they too are lacking in the pitching
department with their two aces on the DL. I don't think NY will be represented in
the World Series this year.
