In addition to being a Tigers fan, I grew up in Michigan and went to the University of Michigan, as did Gehringer. When I got back into the hobby, his 34 Goudey was my first purchase (though I love the color of the '33 more.) I've since completed the Basic Set on the PSA registry and continue to add more rare issues as I find them.
When it comes to collecting, I'd like to believe that I'm employing a mechanical-like approach to checking off my wish list, but more often than not, I let emotion drive my decisions.
