Redmanchewer or anyone knowledeable of 1970s printing techniques:

Do you know if Topps needed to actually produce the Tom Seaver card shown on the 1970 cello box in order to make the box? Or could Topps have just made the box without ever making the card? I'd sure love that card / proof / mock-up if it exists.
