Jeff, my son is almost 3 as well and I keep a stack of cards on his nightstand. We look at them when I tuck him in sometimes, other times it is just a book. I figure it is one way to spark an interest.

I have always felt that collectors of anything are not trained or educated to be one. You either are born a collector or it isn't in your makeup.
