runscottThe local sporting goods store sells last year's cards at about 1/3 retail, so I pick up a few packs about every other year and eventually give them all away. This year I bought 6 packs of bat cards and pulled a Kiner, which I promptly shipped to John - only a Pirates fan could appreciate that card. About 7 years ago Topps had a set called "extra innings" that I got hooked on for about 25 packs - it's still my favorite modern set because of the large vivid photos. When I was about 5 I remember my Dad bringing an unopened pack of basketball cards out of the drugstore - I was really surprised, but I still remember him opening the pack and checking out each player. Funny what kids remember.
