This is the point. Losing in the second round of the playoffs and hoping to get lucky with late first round draft picks is not going to rebuild the Lakers. The worst thing in the NBA is to be good but not "good enough".

I'm OK with them gearing up for a last run or two at a ring with Kobe. They may have to hit rock bottom after that to start a true rebuild, but the Lakers have been very good at avoiding that eventuality over the years. We'll see.

Nash-Kobe-Gasol-Bynum (or Howard) is intriguing. Hopefully Kobe will let Nash run the show on offense. It could really open up the court and lead to many easy baskets for the bigs and for Kobe.
