A 107 year old record HAS BEEN BROKEN
Not that many would care unless you're a White Sox fan but..........
Chris Sale is chasing "Big Ed" Walsh's single season strikeout record, that he set in 1908 of 269.
Sale entered the game with 259 and has 8k's as we speak. Only 3 more to go. I'm usually not happy about old record being broken but when you think of the ball they use today compared to when Big Ed used it it is a drastic difference. I'll bypass that he was allowed the spitball as it was "legal" so NO biased opinion there. Sale is also facing juicers as well.
