I recall reading on several occassions that Ted Williams -- a member of the mighty Veterans' Committee that until last year decided which old timers, negro leaguers, Executives or Managers got in the Hall -- was in favor of Jackson's induction and arguing that since "Shoeless Joe" was deceased his "lifetime ban" had expired.
