Marc S.Your argument only points out to myriad very low grade examples. Joe D. was right earlier in this post....all you would need to evidence your argument is a pristine-condition card that had pristine rounded corners. This, to my knowledge, has never been encountered, despite potentially thousands of E90-1's hitting the auction circuits over the past 24 months. Until that can be identified -- your hypothesis in my humble opinion does not hold water.
