Such a willing and gracious signer.

Funny story. I had always wanted a signed example of one of those Cooperstown group photos of all of the inductees by the lake in the back of the hotel. Finally was able to pick one up about a year and a half ago. After a few months I was bored and decided to see if everyone in the photo had signed it. I counted 36 people in the photo and 35 signatures. Dammit! Well, I figured I would see who was missing and maybe try at some point to get it signed if the player was still alive. I looked and looked and finally figured it out. It was Bobby Doerr. The man who signed everything and anything. He missed out on this one. By the time I figured it out I had heard that he was in a nursing home, so I wasn't about to try to bother him to sign it. The one guy who didn't sign the damn thing turned out to be the most prolific of them all (maybe even moreso than Feller)!!

RIP Mr. Doerr. Class act indeed.
