If you make an offer on a card and that offer is not accepted, you will still receive an email from eBay when that card does sell saying that you did not win the item. This has happened to me. At first, I was stunned to receive the email and thought that my account was compromised. After some research, I remembered that I made an offer on the card that was rejected a few months earlier.
