Massillon football image for sale. It's the 1923 Massillon/Washington High football champs. Washington High changed their name during 1923 to honor their Massillon pro team which folded that season and became the Massillon Tigers. Several important early pro and college players came from this school. Paul Brown was the quarterback the year after this photo and later coached the team. I'm sure some of these guys went on to become college stars.
The image is a large 16" x 21" format and was photographed by R.S. Blake of Canton, Ohio. The trophy depicted is the "The University Club of Canton Trophy" which was awarded for their football championship.
