Some will say it's an error card/sample/fake but this is one of the most unique genuine Jeter cards I've seen. I would explain how I came across this Gem but you wouldn't believe me. I'm fully aware of error and sample cards but this has too many dominant features in order for this card to be accidentally made like this. I can promise you this card has never been in circulation. 1997 pinnacle home jersey. Instead of the script being embossed like on the patent version, the pinstripes, jersey number, copyrights, Yankee symbol and "This copy is for posistion only and not for final output" stamping are all embossed. The script is a flat orange rather than an embossed gold. The card is more of a solid white rather than an off white. The card is marked 17 of 24 which is the away version. Normally the home version is 18 of 24. The copyright is shortened as well the barcode being more prominent. The image of Jeter is completely different. Basically everything is embossed besides the image of Jeter, Pinnacle above his head and the script. The number 2 has a jersey feel and look to it. Feels like your touching the numbers on a real jersey if you were to touch it. After some research I found a card with the same image. I'm not sure if you would call it a pre-production, sample, error or one of a kind but it truly is amazing.
