warshawlawI used to live in NYC as a kid and I remember those. My mom once accidentally dropped her books down the incinerator shaft in the apartment building and from the way she ran down the super to rescue them you'd have thought she'd dropped one of us kids down there.
I also remember sitting around those &&&tty redemption centers for hours (or so it seemed) waiting for whatever piece of junk my mom was getting for her stamps.
Incidentally, I took Civil Procedure from a law professor whose big landmark case was the antitrust suit that broke the back of one of the trading stamp companies back in the 1970s.
