When you do a search for "Idol of the Crowds," four pages of info on John Wayne's 1937 hockey movie pop up, including a flattering review of his portrayal of a chicken farmer-turned-shooting star for the "New York Bears" in their showdown with the "Detroit Maroons" for the Stanley Cup. Classic!
