That's a great story, glad you still have your cards. The only thing I might humbly suggest is that if they're still in the original plastic pages you placed them in years ago, you may want to replace them with newer (hopefully safer) ones. I'm not an expert, but I've read that a lot of those older plastics contain materials that might not be suitable for longer term storage. Perhaps someone more knowledgable can confirm or deny.
