Ball it is on attached pic. Sold for $82.53 - not to me. The key was that the owner listed it as unknown signature. No name whatsoever in the listing. Of course, I looked it and saw who it was right away. I am a "digger" type collector - love to rummage at flea markets and such to find that "gold nugget". I know I, or anybody, can buy a JSA Koufax or JSA Cobb. I have the money to do so. I just like poking around for possible treasures. In the days before the internet, I did it at card shows - no PSA or JSA existed.. It was fun back then. Not so many forgeries and I found some cool stuff. I found my Koufax in the early 90's at a show. 20 years later, I took it to a local dealer PSA and they said it was good. In the mid 90's I bought a Cobb with a Wayne Stivers COA. 20 years later, PSA says it's bad. Wayne was a top-notch guy - he agreed with PSA and offered me my money back 20 years later! A stand-up guy (and pioneer in Negro League history). He detested PSA. I believe he has passed now. I am starting to learn that internet collecting is not so much fun. If you want something, just look for JSA or PSA and "click", you have it in the mail a day later. (The reason I keep saying 20 years is that I stopped collecting when the whole steroid thing started - turned me off). I thought I would start back up. I have seen hundreds of Koufax balls. It's just not in my DNA to tell if this one was real. Others on this board can see it right away. It was fun to keep digging, but I guess not on the internet. I was just having fun with you guys on things I find. Maybe gold, maybe fools gold. I think I have taxed this forum too much though. Great experts here. Best, Casey
