Default 1933 Goudey Red "Big League" Banner

Does anyone have any idea why some 1933 Goudey cards do not have the red "Big League Chewing Gum" banner along the bottom front of the card?

The 1933 Goudey set was produced in 10 sheets of 24 cards each. The first 7 sheets had the red label across the bottom, and the last 3 sheets did not. No idea why the design was changed for the last 3 sheets, maybe someone more knowledgeable about the set on the board can weigh in.
The 72 cards that don't have the label are #'s 97-99, 107-114, 121-129, 142, and 190-240.

And as our man says, mystery solved. But it isn't. While we know which card numbers are banner-less, and the sheets they came from, we still don't know why.

Default 1933 GOUDEY cards

1933 GOUDEY World Series (10th) sheet......

This post is from a 1933 GOUDEY thread on Net54 which was posted 5 years ago.....check-it-out: https://www.net54baseball.com/showth...ht=1933+goudey

Trying to put together a SET of these GOUDEY cards in 1933 was quite a frustrating experience. Certain lower number cards were not available in the Spring
and Summer of 1933. The 10th sheet was printed in mid October, and these cards were issued from November to December 1933. The bios on the backs of
them reflect the 1933 World Series between the NY Giants and Washington. I have arranged the cards from my set to exactly simulate this 24-card sheet.....

This diagram of the 10th sheet tells the story when 15 (of the 22) mysterious lower numbered cards where finally issued.

Card #'s 97, 98, 128, 129, and 142 were printed on the 9th sheet. And, of course #106 (Lajoie) was printed on the 1934 GOUDEY Hi # sheet, and issued in
the Summer of 1934 which finally completed this 240-card set.

T'was a clever marketing trick that Goudey played on collectors in order to sell a lot of cards in 1933....but, it was also a very "mean" trick on the collectors.
