If I understood it -- and had the resources -- I still wouldn't go near it.

Isn’t this speech (and any film or recording of it) already in the public domain for copyright purposes? Generally speaking, under the federal copyright statute, copyright ownership lasts for the life of the author plus 50 years, or 75 years for a work of corporate authorship.

It isn't clear whether the nifty bust is fungible or non fungible.

So are they no longer using fungo bats during fielding practice? Is that what Lou is talking about in this speech that is up for auction? I thought we had free speech in this country.

I am definitely not suffering from non-confusion.

Make no mistake, the guys over at Candy Digital, (Rubin, Novogratz, Vanderchuck), are making a full court press to build a NFT market and have partnered with some heavy hitters like MLB in order to convince the world these things have value. They're a smart, savvy, marketing firm with a ton of dough behind them. Slick is a term my dad used to use.

The only question is: will folks buy into it? They will as long as money can be made and these guys can keep this market liquid enough. It smells of the "greater fool theory" to me so I'll pass.

Give me a 1925 Exhibits Gehrig over this any day.

And just another ridiculous instance of the pathetically overused word, "iconic." They frickin' use it twice in just that little blurb. Do any copywriters ever consult a thesaurus anymore??????????????

I feel old and outdated as I don't understand this NFT stuff at all.

Are you buying a digital image and video that you can't hold or display in your house? Just something digital?

I feel like the fact that I don't understand the appeal and value in this stuff is actually a good thing that means I'm not being scammed by it. Cause it all sounds like a scam to me.
