Default What will 2016 bring to the hobby

So, it's 2016 now and we are on our way to another year in the hobby. As each year there are ups and downs along with just steadiness. The question most of us ask ourselfs is what is to come this year. A few questions I put below will maybe help kick start the thread.

1.Who will be the hot player/players?
2. Who will be the players that cool off?
3. What set/sets will be the hot ticket?
4. What set May fall or come back down to reality?
5. What do you hope to see happen?

Let's hear what people think out there.

Yeap...and probably add D's and E's to the list of least collected....I see 1914 CJs continuing a bit of decline after some collectors finished the set...

I'll limit my answers to prewar.

1. Who will be the hot player/players?

The transcendent ones -- Ruth, Gehrig, Cobb & C. Young

2. Who will be the players that cool off?

The hoarded ones -- Titus

3. What set/sets will be the hot ticket?

The most studied and widely collected sets -- T206 & 1933 Goudey

4. What set may fall or come back down to reality?

The least studied and most narrowly collected sets

5. What do you hope to see happen?

More prewar collectors entering the hobby, especially from the under 40 demo

Apparently 2016 will bring 7 newly discovered T206 Ty Cobb backs.
