Default Mile High Auction customer policy

I won twenty SGC graded cards from Mile High Auction - all came with large in-house inventory stickers on the upper back. Getting them off and cleaning the gummy substance out of the embossment on the holder was not easy. The removal liquid was applied several times for each holder with much rubbing. Also the liquid would tend to seep through the holder plastic plates and wet the black insert. Tired of doing this I decided have the final eleven reholdered. Dave Forman gave me a price of #5.00 each.

Here at the National I submitted the cards to be reholdered. I took the bill to Brian at Mile High to see if he would pay. He said "We don't do that anymore - I'm not paying the bill."

You would think that they would have the slab in those clear plastic graded card sleeves, and then put the sticker on the sleeve. Why they put the sticker directly on the slab is beyond me.

What you said + 20% BP is why they don't get my biz.

Customer service at its best.

Sorry Jerry, such a short sighted, cheapskate move by the AH.

I've used lighter fluid to remove stickers, followed by Novus plastic polish, and they havecome off without a trace.

If he knows it is a problem and people have complained in the past, when not change the type of stickers they use? Find a solution. This is not rocket science.

Or don't put your daggum inventory stickers directly on the items! You would think this would be a common-sense thing with any kind of collectibles, yet I run into it all the time (especially with photos, and in those cases, the sticker typically goes directly on the back of the photo, not even on a slab. Can you imagine the uproar if that was done with cards? ) Plastic sleeves are CHEAP and come in sizes to fit almost all paper collectibles. The few cents you spend per order is well worth it to not come off looking cheap yourself and to avoid negative PR like this.
