Default T206 Willis Transfer - But When?

Recently bought a lot that had a Willis portrait in it. The back looked different so I checked it out. Definitely a transfer but what kind? Wet sheet or post production?

I think it's easy to identify the post productions when the transfer isn't the same as the card itself, but here's a Willis with a Willis transfer......the black ink being the culprit and nothing else that I can discern.....

And yes, my photoshop skills stink.....shoulda had the wife do it.

Default Jeff

factory most likely......its a "wet sheet transfer"...........the black layer was not fully dried when the sheets were "stacked" together at amer. litho...

+1 to what Johnny said.

More scans equal better threads, so here is another.

Desiderata

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.

I like when you can see the name from the wet sheet. plus there is a nice crop mark along for the ride. It is Bresnahan, batting

Here's one more. They aren't that rare, and don't sell for much of a premium.
