Default Bargain-Basement BB Books!--Vintage Maris, Joe D, Casey, Yogi, Gehrig--ENDED

I am moving, getting older, and would rather not store this stuff anymore. I'd hate to throw it away. So,

Box A: Soft-covers: Bidding starts at $1 + S/H [$7 media mail or $13.50 priority mail--which is the box-size I've fit them in].
All auctions end Thursday, March 2, 10:00 EST [10:00 okay; 10:01 too late].

[The Thrilling Story of] Joe DiMaggio, 100 Pictures, one dozen Pin-ups, by Gene Schoor [1950].
This would be the most valuable piece, I'd think; it's basically a picture book with quality photo-prints. See scan below.
5 Baseball Digests, 1961-63 [worn],
2 Who's Who in Baseball, 1961 [worn, Roger Maris on cover], 1984,
2 The Complete Handbook of Baseball, 1973, 1974

11 Pocket books, mostly circa 1960's, all in relatively decent condition:

Roger Maris [Sport Magazine Library] by Leonard Schecter,
Warren Spahn [Sport Magazine Library],
Stan Musial [Sport Magazine Library],
Baseball Stars of 1960,
Can't Anyone Here Play this Game, by Jimmy Breslin
Baseball's Hall of Fame: Colorful, Fact-filled Stories,
So You Think You Know Your Baseball?
Baseball is a Funny Game, by Joe Garagiola,
Baseball Quiz Book
Highpockets, by John R. Tunis [falling apart, but 1948 classic],
Baseball Brain Teasers

+ Bonus throw-in--magazines, other stuff.

Box B: Eleven Books [9 hardcover, 8 with dust-jackets, 2 softcover. Some rare if not valuable. Lots of great, quality photo-prints in many of these books].
They fit in a large, flat-rate priority mail box. Bidding begins at $1 + S/H [either $10 media mail or $18.75 priority mail:

The Glory of Their Times, by Lawrence S. Ritter [full-sized softcover],
Only the Ball Was White, Robert W. Peterson,
Ted Williams, the Biography of an American Hero, Leigh Montville, like new.
Lefty Grove, American Original, by Jim Kaplan,
Sport USA, the Best from the Saturday Evening Post [1961. No dust-jacket on this one--a tome],
Frank Frisch, the Fordham Flash, as told to J. Roy Stockton [1962],
Thirty Years of Best Sports Stories [1975],
Casey at the Bat, Stengel/Fitzgerald [Random House, 1961, "First Printing"],
Sports Illustrated Book of Baseball [1960]
Yogi, Berra/Fitzgerald [1961]
The San Francisco Giants, by Joe King [1958]

Box C: 17 hardcover books, 1940-50's, [8 with dust-jackets]
These fit in a large, flat-rate priority mail box. Bidding begins at $1 + S/H [either $10 media mail or $18.75 priority mail]:

Knute Rockne, All American, by Harry A. Stuhldreher [1931, I believe it's a first edition , with dust-jacket],
The Incredible Giants, by Tom Meany,
Lou Gehrig, A Quiet Hero, by Frank Graham,
Lucky to Be a Yankee, by Joe DiMaggio,
The Book Of Major League Baseball Clubs, the National League, edited by Ed Fitzgerald,
The Book Of Major League Baseball Clubs, the American League, edited by Ed Fitzgerald,
Jim Konstanty, by Frank Yeutter/MVP series,
Phil Rizzuto, by Joe Trimble/MVP series,
Low and Inside, a Baseball book of Anecdotes, Oddities, and Curiosities,
Casey Stengel, by Gene Schoor,
Strikeout story, by Bob Feller [dust-jacket is torn],
Bob Feller, by Gene Schoor,
Baseball Personalities, by Jimmy Powers
Baseball Is Their Business, by Harold Rosenthal,
My Kind of Baseball, Rogers Hornsby,
Connie Mack, by Fred Lieb,
One for the Book of Sports,

Again, All auctions end Thursday, March 2, 10:00 EST [10:00 okay; 10:01 too late].
Email/paypal djdoremus@msn.com [ppff, please; regular paypal, add fee]. A check is fine as well.
For now, shipping is only to the USA, 48 states, as I don't know the costs. I'll ask at the post office by Thursday.
Scans upon request.

Default Books, the printed page, a medium of the past?

It would seem so.
At least that's the way it's going.
It's hard to give them away these days.

Yet there's something about a book, isn't there?

What wonderful advances we make;
even so, there are losses, too.

Thanks for the bids, boys.
I'm happy they'll be going to someone who wants them.

Never thought of it that way before, but you're a 100% correct, sadly.

Before I consider a bid, do you happen to ship to Canada?

Default TheCafeWha?

Wasn't that an exotic East Village bar in the '60's?
I think I went there a couple of times.

Anyway, thanks again for all the bids--
Double-figures on every box!--
It's been fun for me, a real win-win,
delighted that this stuff may be read/live again--

Vive Net54!
