Default Avatar Way of the Water

The movie brought in $434 million dollars World wide.
$134 million in the US.
They say domestic numbers were lite but expected to jumped with the holidays

Reviewers have it a 74 score while the audience gave it over 92%

What were your thoughts?
How much do you think it will gross when all done world wide?

We can revisit in 2024, 2226, and 2228 for the sequels

Havent seen it, not interested in some beautifully cinematic CGI generated film

Well we know 2024 because Avatar 3 was filmed at same time as #2. 4 and 5 to be determined based on sales of 2 and 3 and their profitability

I'll let you know when it comes out on PPV rental.

No way in hell I am sitting in a theater for almost 3.5 hours with this bladder and free refills.

I look forward to watching it in my home. But I need to see it in the Theatre and in Imax. I am told that in those theatres and with the effects it is over the top
As for the Bladder and drinks no answer sorry

I've seen it and to me it was well worth the trip to the theater It's the best movie I've seen in 3D. In fact, I plan on going down to an Imax theater to watch it again next week. It's an hour and a half drive each way.

First one was okay, would likely have seen sequels in a timely fashion, but over a decade later, no thanks.

1 billion dollars world wide. They are claiming the movie hit the mark the 6th fastest of all movies time to do it. And no Real new releases to compete with this movie until February.

Nothing like movie theater buttered popcorn, a big Diet Coke, and a movie that needs to be seen on a big IMAX screen. Last movies I went to before Covid, 1917 (fantastic) and Midway (panned by reviewers who don't know crap about WW2, and equally fantastic). I thought the first Avatar had the best effects I ever saw in a film. Can't wait to see this one for the same reason; supposedly even better.

Part 2 story wasn't lost on me but i would have preferred a different 'villian' (story took some depth to get there). Pls ...not the same in part 3!

Also the theatre clapped for the whaler event?, really...

Outside of above -the IMAX 3D was incredible!

I saw this movie in IMAX 3D. I don't think it was as good as the first Avatar. I remember when I saw the first movie, the 3D effects were mind blowing. 3D had never been presented so seamlessly before. Although the special effects were good, I didn't feel the awe that I had after the first movie. The plot was sluggish and the movie felt long to me. I would give it 2-1/2 stars out of 4. I don't think it's a must watch movie.

I recently read that the director James Cameron finished the first draft cut of Avatar 3, and it came in around 9 hours.
