Which players in the t206 set are blacksox besides Chick Gandil. At first I thought all of them were but am having second thoughts.

Thanks, Henry

Yupp those are it. You won't be finding a Joe Jackson or his five other friends anytime soon in the T206 set.

Hi, how was Burns involved. He's not one of the eight players is he?

And while he wasn't one of the eight "Black Sox", Hal Chase was involved with the fix.

Hal Chase was actually indicted along with the players. He was in California when he was served, but service was quashed by a California court. He wasn't pursued.

Let's add the boxing Champ, Abe Attell, to the mix.

While he, obviously, isn't a T206 guy he can be found in
the T219 set and also in the 1948 Leaf Boxing set (and I
am sure in a few more sets).

His fighting career (Won 107 & lost 10) had ended a few years
before the "scandal" and was the betting guy involved with
the White Sox players.

Adam W. could provide us with more elaboration on Abe.

May have possibly been involved and he's in the t206 set. His involvement is real iffy, tho.

Chase was fringe in the scandal and i don't think the Maharg/Graham idea really holds any water. It is disputed, but that's just my two cents.

Not a player, but find it interesting that Detroit Sportswriter Joe Jackson was mistaken for the player Joe Jackson in a speakeasy and asked about the fix. The original Financial Ledger from the Detroit team that I have has expenses paid for Sportswriter Joe Jackson to ride the train and other expenses on the road.

The Maharg/Graham idea was debunked back when the scandal broke, Billy Maharg did play in one game in the major leagues--the Tiger's strike game when Ty Cobb was suspended. Graham's and Maharg's lives have been separately traced.

but who ever heard of the name Maharg..it's SO weird--unless it's Graham spelled backwards.

Anyone have a photo of ArnoLd Rothstein?
