Near Mint will have to count on these HOFs -- and one cool looking non HOFer (plus an obligatory Hal Chase):

I sold/traded the Johnson about a year ago. Cobb will have to do for now.

Marc,

Are you related to Jacklitsch how does one end up with 2 mint 9 of that player? Has to be great story.

Jim, thanks and as for your cards all I can say is WOW!!! Is it gay of me to want Jim's Johnson???

no story...

I am a back collector and a Phillies collector. These are the only two Phillies T-206 mint examples that I believe have been offered publicly in the last 10 years. Both examples are very different -- and admirable in their own way. I couldn't pass up on either at the time, and, frankly, a PSA 8 of Jacklitsch today would sell for more than I paid for either (or perhaps both) of the PSA 9s.

"Is it gay of me to want Jim's Johnson???"

I'm not sure about the answer to that question, but it is not my Johnson any longer.

Marc,
Isn't there something wrong about having doubles of a T206 in Mint condition?

Now that PSA finally has an E card holder you should get the E93's transfered, they will do it for no cost.

Peter,
I have one in the new holders, but I did not realize they would do that for free. Maybe next time I see them at a show. I would be too nervous to ship these.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

it would only be a double if they had the same advertising back. One is Piedmont, the other is Sweet Cap (unfortunately -- wouldn't it be cool if one of the two was a rare/scarce back?). In which case, they aren't doubles.

I'm happy to trade one of them away

Seriously -- but only for like-kind material (think, rare and/or high-grade pre-war Phillies). At least knowing where they are is better than searching for years for something that you know exists but haven't seen...which is my case in many pre-war Phillies!

Jim Dale,

Spectacular cards--stunning.

I honestly did not know that there were Net54 collectors who collected sgc 96 or psa 9 pre world war 1 cards.

Jim
