Seems i see these much less than the others. How much if any rarer are these as opposed to the 1s and 2s?

I assume you are asking about the T213-3's (your title says T213-2). The Type 3 is much tougher than the type 2's and depending on who you talk to are about the same or slightly easier than the type 1's (I think they are slightly easier). However, type 3's are often found in nice shape (when compared to t213-1's).

As a type card collector I really like the coupons as they are much more scarce than the mainstream T cards. From my 10 yrs of observations I would say I have seen far fewer type 1's than type 3's. Also, as mentioned the type 1's are very difficult in anything above a vg grade. Even a vg type 1 should be considered fairly high grade. They were made on almost paper thin stock. On the other hand it's much easier (still not easy though) to find the type 3's in higher grade as they are on thicker cardboard. They usually have very thin borders too...Personally, I have seen more high grade type 3's than even type 2's..... I really like the type 1's as they are so scarce.....regards

Do Type 1s have the glossy finish of the Type 2 that causes the difficulty in finding them in high grade?

T213-1 cards are non-glossy and look exactly like a T206 except the card stock is thinner (thus more often found beat up).

T213-2 blue caption and glossy
T213-3 blue caption and cut narrower (like an American Beauty) so are found in high grade more often.

This is one of the nicest cards I own.

While this card looks just like a T206 it is actually a T213-1.

Proves the type 3s are from 1919, as thats the only year he played for Giants his last year.
