More Beer Sold at Miller Park When Brewers Lose
If the title of this post is correct (I have no evidence), then beer revenue could be approaching a new high.
However the current Brew Crew seems to be reviving one of the most exciting plays in baseball that happens somewhere almost on a daily basis - the triple. On a pace to hit over 60 three baggers this year (this hasn't happened in awhile), the Brewers, led by Jean Segura and Carlos "Go-Go" Gomez, have found a way to make losing a little more exciting. Home runs are a dime a dozen, a long fly ball, a dejected pitcher and some overpaid juiced gym rat trotting around the bases, and a crowd of screaming lemmings (if it happens to be the home team), but with the triple, the batter actually has to run, the outfielder has to play the caroms in the corners or the gaps, the cutoff man has to be accurate, the pitcher has to back up third base and the third base umpire better be awake, and if the bases are loaded it's a frigging merry-go-round. I'm sure that I'm preaching to the choir of deadball freaks ranting about triples, and although Chief Wilson isn't rolling over in his grave yet, he may be beginning to twitch. Disclaimer: The title of this post was selected merely to attract the couch potato crowd and not to reveal anything about the content of the thread. PS - The Brewers didn't lose last night, but they did hit two more triples.

Frank,
Don't be so hard on the juiced gym rats, after all players have been cheating for years.

In less than 250 words I have managed to insult all of the following in order The Milwaukee Brewers Dejected pitchers throwing gopher balls Juiced gym rat sluggers Screaming lemming "homer" fans Careless Cutoff Men Lazy pitchers who don't play defense Sleeping umpires Dead Ball Freaks (aka Net54) & Couch Potatoes (beer drinking Board Members) I'm not singling out gym rats. This thread is an equal opportunity insult. So there.

I gave up on the Brewers when they got rid of the lederhosen clad people dancing then sliding into the giant mug after home runs.
Yet another fun thing that's fallen to people who are offended on behalf of groups they aren't even in and the packaging of sports for the masses who want profesional sports to be "professional" like other professions. Hey! Maybe we could institute "casual friday" in MLB. No uniforms, or maybe just jerseys like a lower tier softball team. I think Bill Veck would have at least considered it. Steve B |

Milwaukee Triple Update
The Brew Crew has had a rash of triples this week now up to 29 (3 tonight alone), which projects to 72 for the year. There was even a four run triple with the bases loaded and a wild throw to third ending up in the cheap seats.
I figure based on attendance that all the seats in Miami are cheap. The title of this post will henceforth be abbreviated to MTU. Register now to become a triple tracker for your team.
