Default OT: Gehrig/DiMaggio Pic

A cousin of mine sent me this pic tonight. I never realized that they crossed paths at one time in their careers. Just wanted to share with the rest of you.

Had to look it up to be sure. Gehrig retired in 1939 and DiMaggio joined the Yankees in 1936 so they did cross paths.

It is true, though, that there are not a lot of pictures out there of the two of them together, aside from team photos. I wonder why?

One of my high school teachers' father was on a team with both of them (I think he was minor leaguer who was called up to practice with the team). He had an inscribed photo from Lou Gherig that said "I hope they give first base to you when thy take it from me." He also had a photo of his dad and DiMaggio in uniform.
