Default Ebay. Ooopsie!

This ever happen to anybody on Ebay's Mobile App.?

For some reason I got it in my head I wanted a PSA 9 Eric Dickerson Rookie for my PC but didn't want to pay BIN prices. Saw one on Ebay with 12 minutes left to go while I'm cleaning up the kitchen after dinner, and went to go put in a bid for $56.97. Not exactly an aggressive bid, but it had an older flip and it wasn't a high priority for me. Just a lark basically.

For some reason my fat bidding fingers rolled through the keypad and punched in 56097 instead of 56.97 and hit "Submit".

No way to retract anymore (which is not a bad thing...most of the time), too late to contact the buyer and ask to cancel so I could rebid.....so I just waited it out.

Longest 12 minutes of my life. Glad nobody was shilling me. I could have reset the market for Eric Dickerson rookies.

Ended up getting it for 77 bucks. More then I wanted to pay for an old flip, but cheap for a lesson learning exercise.

Over the years this has never happened to me on the desktop version, but it has happened on the phone app before, since there's no "confirm" bid screen after you place your bid in there. It just goes straight through. Fortunately, never to really disastrous results so far.

I did it once. I bid $20.07 on a beater T206 Ganley with a Sweet Cap 150/30 back. Accidentally bid $2007. I won it for $180 and change, for reasons I don't understand (maybe that particular SC series/factory combo is tougher for him?). So that one cost me a lot more than I thought my mistake would. Oh well, my mistake, I paid what seemed like 500% of the value and learned a lesson. Now I make double sure not to hit the confirmation button on auto pilot

Ouch! Greg Morris just sold one for 36.66, so it looks like you got hosed on that one.

That is luckily one of the few mistakes I haven't made on there. Dave at least it was a cheap lesson. Greg that is brutal and I highly respect you paid for the card and used it as a life lesson.

On the flipside, I just got a request to cancel bids in an ongoing auction. Bidder put several bids in on a fairly cheap card. Nothing very expensive or outrageous. No "I put the decimal point in the wrong spot" reason.

Just, "I'm not interested anymore, please cancel my bids".

Seems polite on the surface, and there's still 6 days left in the auction, and it's really not that big a deal...but...why does it annoy me soooooo much?
