Default Jim Thorpe And Amos Alonzo Stagg Photo Type Items Questions

Hi-

I purchased the photos pictured below of Thorpe and Stagg and I have some questions about them. Has anyone seen them before? When were they made? Who made them? Are there more in the "set"? They are the same size and both are blank backed. The tag on the Thorpe was there when I bought it. I think they are from the 1970s or newer but I am not sure. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Alan

John Steckbeck referenced on the Thorpe photo wrote the book Famous Redmen about the Carlisle Indians football team/history. I have the book somewhere and it was published in 1951. It could be that at least the Thorpe photo (and caption) are from the book and this was the image the book picture was produced from. Perhaps the Stagg image is in the book too.

Default Unsure when that Stagg was taken

But it is great photo of him, and obviously from his Chicago Maroons days (40 years their head FB coach, along with 20 years head baseball coach, along with a year of head hoops coach). A remarkable athlete, coach. His '55 Topps AA is nearly impossible in high grade.

Thank you James. I like the image of Stagg too. He did have a remarkable career. Your post did cause me to look at the caption again, and I realized that it references Stagg's age (102) when he passed, so I assume both photos are from 1965 or later.
