Baseball Hall of Fame & Operation Bullpen
Boy, you can't make this stuff up....
I just visited the SCD web site and saw this article. Here is an excerpt from the story. You can visit SCD to see the entire article. Baseball HOF Could Open Operation Bullpen Exhibit in 2010 by Kevin Nelson One of the most famous artifacts in the 3,000-year history of forgery, the Mother Teresa baseball, may go on display at a special Operation Bullpen exhibit being planned for next year by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y. Hall of Fame officials caution that their proposed exhibit on forgeries and fake memorabilia is only in the planning stages and not definitely scheduled yet. Nevertheless, they are enthusiastic about the project and ready to move ahead with it. “We’re going to do it, no doubt,” said Ted Spencer, the Hall of Fame’s vice president and chief curator who is retiring in April. “It’s penciled in for the year after next, 2010. We’re all pumped to do it.” ============ I just want to know, can the hall invite the owners of Coach's Corner and make them special guests at the opening of this exhibit? |

Maybe if they promise them a signing session with Josh Gibson, they can get them to appear.

At first I thought this story was silly. But the more I think about it, I think this could be a great way to educate the public about forgeries in our hobby.
Operation bullpen was a real eye-opener and the more the public knows the worse off it is for our friends at Coach's corner. |

That would be pretty cool as you guys said as an educational tool. Anything to get Coach's Corner and the crap they sell out of the hobby faster is fine by me.
Reminder: the July auction goes Live apparently tomorrow. I cant wait to see the fake crap, and the next batch of AWESOME Youtube videos from Mr Tresh2, who to me, is doing a great service to the hobby. |
