Default Fs: 1955 topps clemente rookie sbc 92!

This card came right out of a wax pack when i bought it years ago. Sbc was an early grading company involving joe merkel, who later became president of sgc in the mid to late 90's. Gem mint corners, perfect registration, nicer than the psa 9oc i owned. Same corners, but much better centering. I have owned this card for over 15 years, but am now concentrating on t206s. Must see to believe! Scans available upon request. Will blow away any psa 8 on the planet, with the same or better corners as psa 9's. Asking price $6,500. Thanks-kevin SOLD, THANKS AGAIN KRIS!

Please email me with any questions or concerns. I have been a collector for almost 20 years, and i have owned other sbc graded cards. This clemente card did come out of a wax pack, and immediately went to them for grading. Enlarged scans are available upon request. Thanks-kevin

I have seen SBC graded cards before. Holder/label very similar to first gen SGC.

Default Sbc

I have owned multiple SBC card in the past. One was an SBC Yaz rookie in SBC 92 and a '48 Leaf Joe Dimaggio in SBC 86. I can only tell you that in both cases I crossed the cards over the SGC (roughly 2-3 years ago) and both cards graded 2 grades lower by SGC.

That's not to say that this Clemente will grade lower but buyer beware. I'd want a guarantee it will cross. Better yet, I'd want it crossed before I paid.

Hey Kris

I would love to see the Clemente once you get it. Would you be able to post a scan of it, not sure why the seller wouldn't just post a pic on the board. Just curious to see how amazing this card really is!!

Thanks
Steve

I never had to worry about the crossover as I was never going to buy it. As long as the buyer is happy nothing else matters.

Congrats on the sale.

Whatever. Bottom line is the card sold quickly. Beats paying $30k plus for a psa 9!!

SBC like early SGC did not give a damn about centering -- as a result many cards were overgraded by today's standards...

since this post can't seen to go away I have to ask.
If this guy believed his own hype and it seems like he does wouldn't he have just had the card
Crossed over himself?

So one of two things happened here.

Either

A. The card was overgraded in a sbc holder.

Or

B. The card deserved the grade it got and this guy voluntarily gave up an
Additional 20k.

is there a c. that I'm missing here? And why is this guy acting so uppity like his kids were insulted?

Ive never understood why so many people (here, SGC, PSA boards) will not just attach a scan of a card.
On the CGC Comics boards people want scans for $5 comics let alone a card like this.

I never understood the hostility on this board. It's such a turnoff !!

For the record, I've seen a scan and the card looks stunning. I'm not able to guess what a crossover grade would be but it sure looks good.

Best wishes for both the buyer and seller.

I don't think what i was asking was out of line in the least.
if the card was stunning and i'm glad to hear it was for the buyer, this guy just gave away a ton out of pure laziness.

it is pretty funny to see a guy respond 4 times to one post then send a private message as well.

Default Seller quality

Often times the quality of WHO you are doing business with overshadows the quality of WHAT you are doing business with. I choose whom I spend my money with just as carefully as what I spend my money on - it is a strategy that has lost deals, but kept me sane and happy :-) After all, it is just sports cards/memorabilia.
