Default Below is a recap of my dealings with Bricol Sports Auction. VERY UNPLEASANT

After submitting over 100 memorabilia items in late August 2011, nearly 10 months later I am still trying to receive what is owed to me from the memorabilia Items I originally submitted.

They sold 10 or so items in late August 2011. After 5 months I received a check of $2,500, and they kept over 52 of my items.

I asked the owner of the company, Shannon Collard, multiple times to have my 52 unsold items to be returned to me. I was told multiple times that I would receive my items but I haven’t. Instead I have been given a number of excuses through text message conversations such as “ My nanny did not make it to work so I’ll call you at 1:30 once my little one goes to sleep” and “I’m still working on it, there are a lot of items. I will text you when I’m done.” I even received a text message on February 27,2012, that stated Shannon was receiving chemotherapy. All in all I’ve received about 40 excuses.

I notified The Sheriffs Department of Pinellas County and was told that they have received over 18 calls from customers against Bricol Sports Auction. I also contacted The Department of Justice & Consumer Services in Pinellas County who had 19 cases against this company. Through the Department, we settled on an agreement where Shannon was to send me my unsold items, but she reneged.

After opening a case with the Better Business Bureau, I learned that they have placed an alert on this business and rated it an F on a scale of A to F. This rating is based on a number of factors such as 14 complaints filed against the business, failure to respond to the 14 complaints that were filed against the business, and the business has failed to resolve underlying cause of a pattern of complaints.

I am in the process of filing a civil suit/argument against Bricol Sports Auction. If anyone is in a similar situation with this company and would like to join my case please contact me.

Evan,
Don't take this the wrong way, but nobody here on the board knows you.
You have made exactly 1 post here and it was about your problem with an auction house.
Sorry, it is my suspicious nature. I always ??? the posts here when the poster has no history and comes on with a strongly worded negative post.

ps. This is a plug I know but I have dealt with Lelands, Alexander Autographs, RR and Henry Yee and have had zero problems.
I would recommend them all for being prompt payers, good catalogers, friendly and courteous.

I can empathize with him...

I used to consign lower-end items to Bricol (pieces that Lelands, Legendary, Hunts, etc would not bother with). They used to be a good outlet for that low-end type of merchandise.

But the prices realized started dwindling, and the payment time-lines started growing. It took multiple phone calls and emails to reach them (most of which were not answered). When I finally received my last consignment check (after a prolonged wait) I recall feeling a huge sense of releif. At that time, I decided to use ebay and the BST for my lower-end stuff.

With regard to autographs, Bricol used to require (and charged consignors for) accompanying Spence or PSA authentication. About 2 years ago (after an extended hiatus) they re-emerged with some questionable (CC type) signed items, and no authentication.

I believe what the above poster is saying. Others have logged past similar complaints in this forum. He was likely directed over here in his search for help/assistance in fighting this matter. The fact that it's his first post doesn't detract from the bad business practice that I believe he's trying to overcome. Hope he can get the help and justice that's warranted. Just my 2 cents...

Everyone starts with their first post on the board. Hopefully he will contribute in the future concerning positive hobby experiences too. With full contact info in the post there is no issue from a rules standpoint (although they do say a first post shouldn't be negative, the rules are mainly guidelines as we are grown ups and usually make good decisions on our own)

I have heard the Bricol horror stories before, there have been several threads here about them.
Like I said first post,,, always looked at by me with a little concern.

You've heard Bricol horror stories before, you've read several threads about them, yet you question the IP's truthfulness, not once, but twice?

Makes perfect sense to me.

???

While this may be the OP's first post, he did make a fairly strong case and provided evidence that can be verified. For example, Bricol Enterprises does indeed have 14 complaints against them, and have earned a grade of F from the BBB.

CW and Leon,
If you felt I questioned the truthfulness of the poster then I am sorry. That was not my goal.
So many years in this hobby/business and this board have made me skeptical of strangers on this board.
I was expressing my skepticism because he was a first time poster. That was all.
And according to Leon the guidelines (rules?) say a first post should not be negative.
I overreacted and for that I apologize to the poster.
In this case considering the object of the negative attack I should have not put up a hasty questioning post.

What about me, Richard? How come you didn't acknowledge me?
I was the first to criticize your "rush to judgment."

David/Richard/Leon, I like all of you so PLEASE don't turn this into another "flame" thread. We can all agree to disagree, right?

Looks to me like the only flame attempt is not coming from me.
I have the associate prof on block and only see his posts when he is quoted.
And I already told Leon that I was wrong and apologized to the original poster.
No flames here.
