Default FS: Cap Anson Pins

Offered are two political campaign buttons from the career of legendary Chicago Cubs player/manager Cap Anson. Following Anson’s retirement he pursued politics among other endeavors. In 1905 he ran and was successfully elected City Clerk of Chicago. In 1907 he then ran for Cook County Sheriff but lost. These two buttons are from those campaigns. They are both of the type that have a button stud on the back of them and are designed to fit into a button hole of coat or shirt. The first is from the 1905 clerk campaign and depicts a baseball player superimposed on a baseball diamond. On the base paths of the baseball diamond is the wording Capt Anson and City Clerk. The second button is from the 1907 sheriff campaign and is in the shape of a baseball complete with stitching. It says Cap Anson and Sheriff. Both are in excellent condtions with no issues. Price: $395 for the pair including shipping.
