Default Mark twain autographed book

I will get pics posted tmrw when I have some time , but looking for some help with value

Trying to sell an autographed mark twain book for a family friend.
The book itself is from 1888 and I was told it is a first edition although I have no idea how to tell if that's the case or not.
On the front page it has a written note about the contents of the book then the signature of mark twain dated 1888

Really just trying to see if anyone has any advise on a value or the best thing to do in order to sell.

Any help would be appreciated

Go here:

And search completed auctions for both Mark Twain and Samuel Clemens and you can probably find several comparable ones to get an idea of pricing.

Post pics and you will get some help tomorrow. There is a whole set of Twain's books from the period that have facsimile writing and signature on the free end page, says something to the effect of "this is the authorized uniform edition of my books" and then his pre printed autograph. Those ones are not authentic. Typically when you find a twain signed book that has additional writing or inscription, it will be somewhat witty, because that was the type of guy he
was :-)
