Default 1961-62 Bell Lakers: Anyone Here Get Them?

Five of them popped up on eBay and were BIN'd right away. West went for $1500, Baylor for $700, and the other three for $200 and up. I missed them and it was my LCS that sold them...D'oh!

I'd never even heard of the '61-'62 Bell Brand Lakers cards. Compared to the football and baseball cards that Bell Brand issued (some of the best), these fall way short!

Yeah but..they are astoundingly rare. 1961 Bells are white whale cards for basketball collectors and are especially coveted by Lakers collectors, West Coast regional collectors, and West/Baylor collectors. While any card is rare as hell, the ones offered just happened to feature West and Baylor RCs issued in the Lakers' town. There was a lot of collective wailing and lamenting seeing them go like that.

Someone is laughing all the way to the bank today because the ones that were offered sold for 10% of FMV.
