Default Warren Giles Official National League Ball - Blue Stamping

Can anyone shed any light on this item:

Warren Giles Official National League Ball - Blue Stamping

Warren Giles was N.L. President from 1952-69. All the National League baseballs I have seen have black stamping - this one is stamped in blue like the typical American League baseballs.

It has "TRADE MARK REC. - CAN. PAT. OFF." below the trademark writing under the Spaulding logo, instead of "REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. - MADE IN U.S.A." like the typical NL ball.

Only thing I can think of in the Giles timeframe is 1969 Montreal Expos. But I have never heard of them using a different ball like this.

Perhaps just some type of souvenir ball?

Any help appreciated.

Default blue Spalding

I have seen other Canadian-made Spalding National League - type balls stamped in blue. I don't believe they were used in major league games, only for retail sale.
