Default Fake Polar cards: The Prophet Speaks

Posted By: Ryan Christoff

Okay, I really do not wish to waste any more of my time posting about these fakes, but I've had several collectors e-mail me about them. I wrote extensively on these in the original thread, which makes for some hilarious reading and classic Net54 drama, and I just don't have any more energy to spend.

Since the opportunity to purchase fake cards of Josh Gibson, Oscar Charleston, Jose Mendez, and Martin Dihigo has finally presented itself on ebay, I thought I would simply post a link to the original thread from 2005 for anyone who missed it or wants to read some more opinions about these "cards." Or, for anyone who just wants a good laugh.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/153652/thread/1126062773/last-1135269895/Cuban+%26quot%3BPolar%26quot%3B+Cards

The "Prophet" part of the thread title will make more sense if you read the original thread.

So, for those who have e-mailed me for my opinion, here it is: THEY ARE FAKE CRAP PRODUCED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.

Many others disagree with me and believe them to be real as you will see in the original thread. For those considering whether or not to bid, it might be a good idea to read all the different opinions and make their own decision.

I hope this is of some help to someone, but judging by the $500 Willie Mays that sold, I think it may fall on deaf ears.

-Ryan

Default Fake Polar cards: The Prophet Speaks

We sure had to wait a long time for these to show up, though. Where's Cool Papa Bell? Where's Satchel? Where's Jim Thorpe? Where's Abner Doubleday holding the very first baseball bat made from the cherry tree George Washington cut down? For what it's worth, the seller seems like a good guy and I've bought genuine stuff from him, but lately he's become, unknowingly, I think, a conduit for fraud.

..that Keeler card for 74.99 is really cool looking... I would drop 24.99 on it if they lower the price.. There are new topps cards fetching more so I guess all you need is a buyer and a seller...regards
