Default SGC Grade A (Auth)

Posted By: ChiSoxFan

Was searching he SGC web site and couldn't find anything (or was looking in the wrong place) about the "Auth" grade.

Was wondering what the grade was for? Guessing it is for an Original card that has been altered (trimmed, colored, etc.).

Thanks for the help,
ChiSoxFan

Default SGC Grade A (Auth)

Beware of the seller that says the card was given an AUTH cert because the card wouldn't meet a minimum grade the submitter wanted. That was an old ploy some sellers used to use. AUTH generally means some type of alteration. I only wished that the grading services would provide more information with the AUTH certification. Was the card trimmed? Was color added? Why was the card given the AUTH cert?
