Default On what planet do these people come from?

I do a lot of advertising to buy.
I am offered junk all the time and sometimes I get offers that are just so laughable.
Like today a guy with cuts of "The Holy Grail" (his term) Williams, Dimaggio, Mantle. He said he already turned down $9500 and did sell a single cut of Dimaggio for $2800. According to this seller cuts are the best autograph you can get (I am quoting his e mail exactly).
And from another seller a 1976 NL All Star ball, with most sigs. He was a security guard at the game and he is sure there is no other ball like it in existence. He did not quote a price but I told him that we would not be in the same place on value.

I love when people try to come off as experts. I am a 35 year collector of Mets game used so I know a little bit about it. I had a guy offer me a Mike Piazza jersey that was a style never worn on the field, one of those customized jerseys available at every Modells. He tells me Mike gave it to him at a game and the jersey is a size small. Of course I didn't buy it, he later tells me that he sold it to the HOF for $10,000 LOL

I don't understand what compels morons to lie like that on top of being so stupid.
At this point in time I could probably write a (small) book about all the stupidity that is out there, truly a sad state of affairs.

That would make for an interesting book.

One of the long time stamp dealers wrote a series of small books about the crazy stuff he's seen over the years. Fascinating stuff.
