Default OT: 1954 Topps Signed Howie Fox. Does One Exist?

Title says it all. Fox was stabbed to death in San Antonio in late 1955. Anyone know of or have a 1954 Topps Howie Fox that has been signed? Knowing that info is the difference beween me getting into a signed 1954 Topps Orioles team set or not.

James

Default I would still go for it!

The story behind Fox's death, and the limited possibility would make that autographed card like your own personal Wagner! Great stuff....

Default Logically, I would have

to say that card exists.

Given 2 years opportunity, someone should have gotten a signed 54 Topps, even in those days ---

However, I would wager than perhaps less than 10 still exist and may be available. I would check with some dealers such as Keating and Simon to see if they have ever handled such a card

*BUMP* I checked with Phillip Marks and he vaguely remembers one. How much would you guesstimate one would be valued at?

Just looking around on the internet it looks like his auto goes for about $100-$200...what's the multiplier for having the auto on a baseball card? I'd say you'd be looking at $250 or better if you could find one.

Dan - I think your a bit low and would guess it's at least $700-$1000.
